I had been looking for this backpack for weeks, and finally found it on the seven Horizon’s website. It is the most comfortable lightweight backpack, and really well designed. Perfect for my upcoming Overland Track and Larapinta hikes. It was delivered very efficiently with a lovely handwritten note. I definitely recommend the pack and Seven Horizons.
Did a 10K walk to test the bag worked amazing. Great ventilation. weight distribution. clips. zippers and overall quality.
Ordered online and had a seamless transaction. The bag arrived in time for travel with a hand written note of appreciation.
Love your work!
While travelling light in Japan and useless with chopsticks this time I was prepared. Super lightweight and strong, they’ll last a lifetime.
Seven Horizons got the bag in the post either same or next day, and it was with us in 3. My wife is very happy with the backpack… light, very well made, and adaptable. It’s ignited her obsession with quality gear it would seem :)
Used new tent for first time in Tasmania Walls of Jerusalem Circuit.
It perforformed perfectly as we encountered heavy snow sleet rain and wind.
The 2 of of us were cosy inside with no leakage or condensation noticeable.
Shipment arrived onetime, in good shape, and with a hand-written thank you note. Amazing!
This review is before any longer hikes as I was prompted after only a couple weeks of owning them.
It's very difficult to find good quality full grain leather boots that DON'T have Goretex (or similar), so I was excited to find a brand that I trust having such an offering. I don't want Goretex as I find it restricts breathability. I'm in Sydney, Australia and my feet get hot easily.
The Good:
- Although they look big and bulky, they are much lighter than I expected. Noticeably lighter than my Nicks boots. But it doesn't feel like they went cheap on materials. I think most of the weight comes out of the light but firm sole.
- Quality feeling full grain leather
- Love that there is solid piece of soft leather around the back of the heel.
- Stiff sole. I have some cartilage damage in my toes, so really appreciate stiff soles underfoot on harsh terrain to prevent too much flexing.
- Sizing is true. I've had several other Scarpa boots/shoes and am size 44 in all of them. I hike with lighter socks, so didn't need to get up a size to accommodate thicker socks. I am normally size US10.5 in trainers and most other shoes.
Things I wish were different:
- They are pretty heavily insulated, so my feet will still sweat in summer. (I bought these sight unseen, based on reviews from the web). Many people may like this, but for my needs, I wish it was thinner (or no) insulation.
- The leather around the heel is very soft and has slight cushion behind it. That means my heel is grabbing the leather more and am getting worse initial blisters during the break in process than hoped. I am highly confident it will break in fine, but it's just taking a bit longer.
The pants were very nice. Thank you. We were charged for customs 26 dollars but that wasn’t you’re fault. 😆 I was very pleased with your service.
I have this 18lt daypack made by Osprey. Sadly Canvas is seldom used nowadays and if they are, the bags would be pricey. I have used the Osprey Arcane daily over the last five years and there are no holes or tears thus far. The only thing is that it's looking a bit aged and stained which is why I decided to buy the same bag. Love it.
Thanks for the personal touch from Daniel. Thanks for your thoughtful card from Seven Horizons which came with my bag.
Cheers and best wishes.
Ben
